Directions East started in 1984 as a small manufacturer of a unique and patented wooden furniture line called “Child Safe Products” with an emphasis on safety mechanisms for children’s furniture. From there they expanded into educational toys with a line called “Dr Franks”, winning several distinguished awards for both product lines in newspapers, trade magazines, and even television (NBC Today show).
Over time and through years of experience they have narrowed their focus on strictly designing unique furniture and accessories. The results are furniture that takes the creative use of hardware, materials, and finishes under the guidelines of a style that is simple.
