Born in Hastings, England in 1957, Matthew Hilton studied furniture design and three-dimensional design at Kingston Polytechnic. He lives and works in London where he opened his own design studio in 1984. His works are featured in numerous exhibitions throughout the world.
The Wait Chair, designed in 1997 by Matthew Hilton and realized in 1999, has quite
a classic appearance, and deliberately dispenses with modern avant-garde. Nevertheless, it is anything but a piece of furniture to hide away in the corner. The seating comfort played a very important part in the design for this monobloc chair made of polypropylene. Due to its material and form, Wait is easily stackable and can be used inside or outdoors.
